Collecting Cars At Scale

I've known my good friend Adam for a couple of decades now, meeting through East Coast Toyota forums or maybe some other Toyota event, he's the type of person to give you the shirt off of his back as well as a complete car nut. More specifically, Adam is a lover of all things Camry, albeit not the new hybrid-only model, but anything made from his Calgary blue Camry TRD and before. In the past he has owned some 1MZ-equipped models and rumor has it that he still might, this particular model is very much an everyman's car but also a source of untapped potential with the aftermarket offering the ability to turn that vanilla ice cream into a full-blown sundae. Aside from preaching the good word of the Toyota Camry, Adam also collects two things, classic vehicle plates, and scale-model toy cars.

Today, you can go on any social media platform and connect with all types of collectors of 1/64 scale cars like Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Tomica, etc, as well as slightly larger "toys" that resemble something between the cars we own and automotive fever dreams. As a kid who only ages and tacks on responsibilities, scaled collectibles are an inexpensive way to keep up with your car hobby. As a Toyota enthusiast, people like Adam seek out any Toyota, Lexus, or other cool cars that he and others in our generation grew up with, sometimes finding luck at stores like Walmart and Target, or getting those hard-to-find cars at a car show booth or eBay. On his travels, Adam has always been kind enough to send me a box of his findings which has helped my Toyota/Lexus 1/64 garage grow, I'm probably close to 50 cars and he has a much larger collection he wanted to share with you all.
